On my way with Liz out to get my biweekly treatment up at the Vic plowing through the snowdrifts with my walker when Don our Mohawk neighbor-the guy who always yells ‘Joe Beef’ at me-stops his car and says get in.He’s on his way to the “K’ as he calls Kanawake and says he’ll drop us off at the Atwater Terminus where we plan to catch the 144.
So we’re pulling up at the bus terminus when the 144 pulls out into Atwater-no problem says Don-and swerves in front of the bus,gets out of the car and waves his arms above his Mohawk haircut at the bus driver.
Later sitting on the bus I said to Liz:
“Well I guess when you’ve shut a whole bridge down,stopping a bus in the middle of the street is nothing”
